Sky Capatain - Really fun movie!

Just got back from seeing Sky Captain and I have to admit it really exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

I'm always skeptical when there's that much CGI work involved but they really pulled it off. It had a great look a fun story - and a lot of great toy potential. Too bad there wasn't much in the way of merchandising for this movie. Oh, well - there's always the sequel. [img]wink.gif[/img]

I enjoyed it also. Good story, very different setting. A good time was had at the moves. But yeah, it would have been better if there was a toy line. Too risky for some toy companies nowadays I guess.

Saw it last Monday and loved it.

Hasn't made a lot of money so far, which sucks, because it really deserves to, and I was hoping that they would make more. Hopefully it'll do well around the world and on DVD, ending up more as a cult hit like Donnie Darko.

A toy line would've been awesome for Totenkopf's machines alone, but I'm trying to rectify the situation... I've got a Sky Captain custom planned-- just need to buy the base figure and I'll be ready to go. Don't know if I'll make his plane, though... I'd like to, but it comes down to an affordable WW2 base vehicle.

Yeah, it debut in the number 1 spot amongst a bunch of mediocre movies (it would have been buried as a summer release.)I'm surprised they haven't marketed it harder. It's a great movie...destined to be a cult classic. I've been looking forward to this movie for almost a year and it didn't disappoint me!

I assume you can find these at Wal-Mart (haven't checked - not sure if this is a recent release or an older one).
